THEATRE & LIVE EVENTS

Since graduating from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, I’ve written several full-length and one act plays, both original and commissioned, as well as multi-media live events. Below are a few of my favorite scripted theatrical and live projects:

MUSIC FOR CHANGING TIMES

I wrote the script for Music for Changing Times, a live multi-media retrospective of protest music in America. Music for Changing Times was developed as a benefit concert for the nonprofit Music to Life, and incorporated archival video, song, poetry, visual art, and storytelling. The show was headlined by Noel Paul Stookey and Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul, and Mary, and presented by the Rubicon Theatre Company.

WHERE TO BEGIN

I was commissioned to write Where to Begin by the nonprofit theater company The Fellowship of the Ravens. Where to Begin is a full-length play for young actors that explores the subjects of adolescent mental health, community, and belonging through the lens of fairy tale and the classic hero’s journey. Where to Begin was performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Columbia University’s Schapiro Theater.

KIT & DABNEY

My first full-length play, Kit & Dabney, was workshopped at The Secret Theatre and presented at La Mama Experimental Theatre Club. Kit & Dabney (loosely inspired by J.D. Salinger’s Franny and Zooey) follows two dysfunctional siblings and an unexpected guest through a darkly funny, existentially fraught journey that takes place over one midwinter night at a dingy seaside motel.
